The second phase of project Peter Milburn Brown was an indoor cricket facility. Lovingly created in the property’s disused Dairy Parlour…I have to confess I was initially sceptical because of the sheer scope of the split levelled concrete. Again the project was met with consummate ease by Ashbrook Construction due to Peter’s detailed drawings & plan of works. Again the facility looks as if it has been situated for years, maintaining the history & lovely architecture of the traditional wooden beams. Hours & hours of fun had by all already, a magnificent all weather facility for Cheshire’s finest U12 Cricketers as well as anyone who fancies having a go with the Bola Cricket Machine. Peter Milburn-Brown at Workshop Design Studio has created my family a home that is simply beautiful. His design is more than we ever realised we needed, wanted or could have achieved.
It was really important for us to maintain the historical feel of our 1930’s home, bringing some rooms back to their original intention while creating new and functional rooms to meet the needs of our family. The design that Peter created did all of this while avoiding the “Big white box” approach of many renovations. His design translated our needs into a blueprint of materials, lighting, colours and textures that were simple to understand and created a home that is perfect for our needs. He flipped rooms entirely; in ways we would have never considered and gave us the bravery to bring beautiful colours that compliment the style of the house. When we sent out Pete’s designs to QSs, Builders and other trades they were incredibly impressed by the level of detail and clarity put into the drawings, which made the quotation process seamless.

During the renovation, Pete’s unwavering support gave us so much confidence, he was a constant in our lives throughout, and was a calming presence when the demands of the renovation were difficult. Pete was generous with his time, he helped us to stay strong when tradesmen wanted to dilute the design but was also flexible when our needs developed during the build.

Now that it is complete, our house is stunning. Our living areas are cosy and comfortable, our kitchen is fit for a chef and dining area looks like a restaurant. The thought put into how light moves around the space, how each space is used, and even the tiniest details of fittings has given us a house that wouldn’t be out of place in a design magazine. Our friends and family all have a favourite part of our home, and we couldn’t be happier to share Pete’s details with them.
