About Us

Workshop Design Studio is a RIBA Chartered,
multi-disciplinary architecture and design practice offering services in interior design, architecture, planning and project management.

Our award-winning studio works on a diverse typology of sectors ranging from private residential to commercial office schemes.

We are a small, boutique studio with a lot of passion for what we do. Our small size means we can offer a high-quality, highly-personalised service to our clients and we take pride in the positive, lasting relationships that we create.

The core values, on which the studio was founded, guide every decision we make. We have integrity. We are authentic. We are outward looking. We care deeply about design and never stop learning.

Nestled in between The Cheshire Plain and Peak District National Park, the studio was founded in 2018 by award-winning architect and designer Peter Milburn Brown, after many years working for leading practices in London and Manchester, as well as internationally in South East Asia.

Peter’s background is unusual in that he qualified both as an architect and as an interior designer, giving him a thorough background in everything from interior spatial design, lighting and materiality to a technical understanding of buildings, planning, contracts and project management.

Workshop Design Studio is the culmination of that training and experience, combined with Peter’s future-facing vision.

We have integrity. We are authentic. We are outward looking.
We care deeply about design and never stop learning.

What our clients say:

“Workshop Design Studio delivered the agency design of our dreams. From the very beginning, Peter understood our concept and vision to create an exciting, premium destination for our team, talent and clients.

We wanted a space that was both dynamic and fresh but with a calming, spacious feel. Peter listened to our concerns, as much as our vision, and took the time to get to know the day-to-day flow of our company culture which has really added to the internal flow in the space now.

We felt we could fully trust Peter's eye for quality and know no shortcuts or half measures would be taken - especially in ensuring this was a space equally beautiful for our staff as much as guests. We're beyond happy with the results and every day we're complimented on the space and feel created, which is a brilliant feeling.”

10* Rating for Peter Milburn Brown of Workshop Design Studio Ltd for his patience, perseverance & tenacity in gaining planning permission for our all sports, astroturf tennis court. Peter’s designs were excellent meaning Platts & Co contractors & construction could easily & impressively meet the task. Sits tastefully as an extension to our garden & looks as if it has been there forever. Providing endless hours of healthy sport from tots to adults alike.

The second phase of project Peter Milburn Brown was an indoor cricket facility. Lovingly created in the property’s disused Dairy Parlour…I have to confess I was initially sceptical because of the sheer scope of the split levelled concrete. Again the project was met with consummate ease by Ashbrook Construction due to Peter’s detailed drawings & plan of works. Again the facility looks as if it has been situated for years, maintaining the history & lovely architecture of the traditional wooden beams. Hours & hours of fun had by all already, a magnificent all weather facility for Cheshire’s finest U12 Cricketers as well as anyone who fancies having a go with the Bola Cricket Machine.

A heartfelt thanks a million from our family to you Peter.
